The invitation

The Reclamation is a live, intimate workshop for women who are done pretending or playing small.

It is for women ready to deepen the work of reclaiming their inner voice, their boundaries, and their wholeness — as both an act of self-care and sovereignty. Developed through the transformative work of Voices Unveiled with Afghan women leaders, these practices are now open to women across Europe, the Americas, and beyond.

This is not another self-improvement program. It is not about optimizing yourself, fixing yourself, or becoming a better version of yourself. It is about recovering the relationship with yourself that existed before performance became survival.

A different story about women and power

Before the story we inherited, there were other stories.

Across some of the world's oldest living cultures, women have long held a different kind of authority. Not power over others, but power as the center — as origin point, the quiet, life-giving force from which everything else emerges and around which community organizes.

Women, in this worldview, are not the support system. They are the system — the center from which relationships, care, continuity, and collective wellbeing radiate. The Reclamation is an invitation to return to that organizing principle: one that places your wholeness not at the margins, but at the center, where it has always belonged.

The natural world is our first teacher — an ecosystem thrives through reciprocity, interdependence, and living beings tending to one another.

Reclaim your voice · unlearn the conditioning

You know the feeling.

For many women, living through this moment creates a suffering that often goes unnamed — not trauma in the clinical sense, but a relentless accumulation of vigilance, grief, rage, and overwhelm. These are not personal failures. They are symptoms of a culture that asks more of women while allowing them less room to exist fully.

  • The chronic self-monitoring and compulsive caregiving.
  • Burnout mistaken for virtue; achievement that costs you your own aliveness.
  • Answering emails at midnight while apologizing for having boundaries.
  • Shrinking in rooms you have every right to occupy.
  • The fatigue that sleep cannot repair — because it comes from staying slightly removed from yourself in order to remain “acceptable” inside your own life.
  • Success at the cost of becoming someone you no longer quite recognize.

The Reclamation is a space to examine how these patterns become internalized, loosen their grip, and return to a deeper relationship with yourself — through feminist literature, artistic reflection, meaningful conversation, and shared practice.

A portrait dusted with light

Why this workshop is effective

The results are documented. They are not anecdotal.

Three years ago, Afghan refugees asked Cara Cruickshank to design a feminist self-empowerment course for women still living under Taliban rule. She said yes — and founded Voices Unveiled, an underground online school operating in secret. Among her students: graduate students, doctors, lawyers, activists, artists, and engineers risking everything to keep learning.

9% → 100%
of students able to say "No" — before and after the course.
98%
showed measurable improvement in overall wellbeing.
84%
are now actively teaching what they learned to others.
73%
reduction in depression among participants.
61%
reduction in isolation.
88%
reported positive changes within their own families.

If this work can build resilience, self-sovereignty, and feminist community for women living under one of the most extreme regimes in the world, it can do it for women anywhere.

Cara provides different lenses to look through to understand the causes of injustice in the world, most importantly in the lives of every woman. This program will enable participants to pave a path for themselves which can lead them towards a better tomorrow created by our own collective action.

Is this for you?

This workshop is for you if…

  • You are a woman who is politically and socially conscious — someone who understands the systemic forces shaping the world, and is ready to do the inner work that matches that awareness.
  • You are professionally accomplished and deeply engaged in leadership, activism, or creative work — and yet something keeps pulling at you: showing up fully for everyone except yourself.
  • Your needs, your voice, your boundaries are often the first things negotiated away.
  • You don't need to be introduced to feminism. You need a space to practice living it from the inside out.
  • You are ready for something intimate, deepening, and real — a live weekly commitment with a small group of women who will know your name, your story, and the patterns you're ready to transform.
  • You are ready to commit two hours every Saturday morning for twelve weeks.

This is serious, structured, live work. It asks something real of you — and it returns something real and meaningful, in kind.

What you'll build

The clarity, steadiness, and self-trust that let you contribute fully — without disappearing in the process.

  • Radical self-compassion so your inner voice becomes your most trusted ally, not your most relentless critic.
  • Compassionate self-advocacy as daily practice, so your needs, dreams, and limits are no longer negotiable.
  • Inner freedom that belongs to you — not contingent on anyone's approval, attention, or permission.
  • The art of saying no clearly, without apology or the exhausting performance of over-explanation.
  • Restorative self-care that actually replenishes you, built into your real daily life.
  • Awareness of internalized oppression and the tools to dismantle it, within yourself and the world around you.
  • The power to decentralize the male narrative and make space for women's voices and ways of knowing.
  • A global feminist community — lasting bonds with women across the US, Europe, and beyond.

Cara Cruickshank, founder of Voices Unveiled

About Cara Cruickshank

Two decades creating spaces for women to reclaim their voices.

Cara Cruickshank is a feminist educator, writer, artistic director, producer, and human rights advocate. Her journey began in Bahia, Brazil, teaching self-empowerment to marginalized girls who walked barefoot across the hills to attend her classes. From there she guided high-school girls, taught gender studies, and led workshops for junior-high boys on deconstructing masculinity.

She has led international theater projects across Europe and the US, produced a critically acclaimed play about the female experience that premiered in Paris at the height of the #MeToo movement, and spent more than a decade curating Café de la Culture — a global series of philosophical art salons. When the racial-justice uprisings of 2020 demanded urgent dialogue, she moderated live panels with frontline activists around the world.

When Afghan refugees approached her to build a feminist course for women under Taliban rule, she did not hesitate. The result — Voices Unveiled — has since reached hundreds of Afghan women across eight provinces. Now, for the first time, Cara brings this same methodology to a global cohort through The Reclamation.

Working with Cara was a highlight. Her focus, passion, and dedication to telling the stories that speak to us all was paramount in my own journey and body of work.

A cohort of women gathered together at golden hour
What time is 9–11am EST in my timezone?

2–4pm London · 3–5pm Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam · 6:30–8:30pm Mumbai · 4–6pm Nairobi. Reach out if you're unsure whether your timezone works.

Is this right for me if I'm new to feminist frameworks?

Yes — if you feel the pull toward this work, trust that instinct. No prior academic background is required.

How interactive are the sessions?

Very. These are not lectures. Each session is live, participatory, and discussion-based, and the small cohort size makes genuine depth possible every week.

What if I've already done a lot of personal development work?

This is often the missing piece — the explicitly feminist, politically grounded, community-rooted framework that makes sense of everything else.

What is the refund policy?

Full refund available up to 14 days before the first session. After that, your seat can be transferred to a future cohort.

Can I expense this through a professional development budget?

Yes. We're happy to provide documentation to support a funding request.
