I am Voices Unveiled’s youngest student. I’m currently in grade 9 at an online British under the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum. I also take two English courses -one of which is an elective with V.U. I love to read. Just this morning, I started the book Atomic Habits. I’m also proud to say that I’ve recently self-published my first book, all about me! Aside from reading, I enjoy painting, journaling, and, most of all, playing cricket.

One of the hardest things since the Taliban came has been not being able to play cricket just because I’m a girl. Studying is also one of my favorite hobbies. My dream is to become a successful trauma surgeon and be financially independent. I want to make my parents proud, help people in need, stay physically and mentally healthy, and continue pursuing my love for painting and cricket. I also hope to become a prosecutor one day.

As an Afghan girl, I’ve faced many challenges — like limited access to education, fear of being judged for dreaming big, and not always having the freedom to choose my own path. Many people here still believe that girls should only marry, have children, and do housework. I’ve felt that pressure. But these challenges have made me stronger and more determined to succeed, and that’s exactly why I’m working so hard. I want to prove that girls can achieve anything.

One of the hardest challenges I’ve faced is depression. I went through a mental breakdown last year and developed a panic disorder. It deeply affected both my mental and physical health. I was in the most recent semester of the Voices Unveiled Self-Empowerment course. It helped me so much -both personally and academically. This course helped me realize my worth and gave me the courage to speak up for myself. I consider it an opportunity for change.

As an Afghan girl, it reminded me that I can achieve my goals, no matter the obstacles. I loved it a lot. Now I have the confidence to do anything. Returning to this course would feel like a chance to keep growing. I want to keep learning, believing in myself, and inspire other Afghan girls to do the same. Many girls here don’t have the freedom to study or dream big. That’s why I recommend the Voices Unveiled course. It helps us become more confident, disciplined, and empowered.
