“The Voices Unveiled Self-Empowerment course has been a true light in my life.”
Before the Taliban returned to power, I graduated from medical school. I studied medicine for seven years, far from my home and family. It was one of the most difficult times of my life. I often felt lonely, depressed, and struggled with financial problems. I even faced insults from others for being a female student. But I never gave up. Despite all the hardships, I completed my university degree. Now that I am banned from my profession, I have turned my focus to learning new skills online.
I am currently studying English, computer programming, leadership, TOEFL preparation, and creative writing — all offered by Voices Unveiled. My goal is to become the best doctor in the world. Even if I cannot practice right now, I will keep improving myself until the day I can return to my profession and serve others. I also enjoy many hobbies, including studying, exercising, cooking, and cleaning. These activities help keep my mind active and give me peace.
If I could, I would like to spend time in nature and travel to other countries. The Voices Unveiled Self-Empowerment course has been a true light in my life. It gives hope and strength not only to me, but also to many Afghan girls who feel forgotten and discouraged. What makes the class so special is the honesty and passion of our beautiful teacher. She makes every lesson inspiring, and because of her, I try my best to attend every class.
While the world has often ignored us just for being girls, she reminds us of our worth. She believes in us, lifts us up, and gives us the courage to believe in ourselves. I am deeply grateful for the hard work and support of the Voices Unveiled team. This course has given us beautiful moments and powerful tools to grow stronger. If Afghan women want to break free from depression and become confident and empowered, this class is the best and one of the only paths available.
I truly hope to be part of the next round and continue this journey of growth and learning.
